No Havering Christmas market has a 2026 date yet. Last year: Hornchurch 15 Nov, Harold Wood 29 Nov, Upminster Windmill 20 Dec. Christmas Land opens 27 Nov.

If you are searching for the Romford Christmas market, the short answer on 6 October 2026 is that no organiser in Havering has published a 2026 date for a Christmas market yet. Romford does not have a stand-alone German-style market; what it has is Romford Market’s own Christmas trading, plus Christmas stalls at the town centre switch-on events and a handful of one-day craft markets. Here is what ran last year, and the one festive night out that is already confirmed.

Romford Market at Christmas

Romford Market in Market Place runs on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 4.30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm. The council’s market page says it hosts “a full Christmas programme” but gives no Christmas dates or extra trading days for 2026 (Havering Council: Romford Market).

The last Christmas programme the council published in detail was in 2022, when the market opened every day from 9 to 24 December, with a mini funfair, a free concert, a Santa’s post box and free gift wrapping, paid for by Romford Business Improvement District (Havering Council, December 2022). The council has not published an equivalent notice since. Romford Civic Society judged its market stall awards over “several Christmas Shopping days in December” 2025, which shows the stalls were trading through the month, but no organiser listed the extra days.

A word of warning: romford-market.co.uk, which turns up in searches for “Romford Christmas market”, says the market opens daily “from Wednesday 12th December to Monday 24th December”. It is not the council’s site, and those weekdays match 2018, not 2026.

Windmill tours were pay on the day, children had to be over 100cm tall and open-toed shoes were not allowed on the stairs.

Upminster Windmill’s 2026 events page lists nothing after a mills conference on 21 November (Upminster Windmill: What’s On). We will add the Christmas market when it appears.

Confirmed for 2026: Christmas Land

Mind in Havering, Barking and Dagenham runs Christmas Land in Harrow Lodge Park, Hornchurch RM11 1JU, from 27 November 2026 to 2 January 2027. It is a lights walkway rather than a market, but it is the nearest thing to a Christmas market night out in the borough: the charity says “food/refreshments/mulled wine and German beer” are “served nightly”.

  • Entry: walkway from £5.50 a person, under-2s free, no concessions
  • Santa’s Grotto: £8 a child, including a wrapped gift
  • Booking: the charity strongly advises booking ahead
  • Getting in: Hornchurch Road entrance only; a free public car park sits next door
