Remembrance Sunday 2026 is 8 November. Romford steps off at 10.30am outside the Liberty, and six other Havering parades and services run to an 11am silence.

Remembrance Sunday 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November, the second Sunday of the month. Armistice Day itself, 11 November, is a Wednesday this year.

Havering holds seven separate parades and services on the Sunday, from Rainham to Harold Hill, all timed so the two-minute silence lands at 11am. The council has not yet published its 2026 running order. In 2025 it went out on 29 October, so expect this year’s confirmation in the last week of October.

Below are the arrangements as the council published them for 2025. The locations and step-off times have been stable for several years, and unless a route changes they are what to plan around. We will replace them with the 2026 list the day it is published.

Romford

The parade starts at 10.30am outside the Liberty shopping centre and finishes at Coronation Gardens on Main Road, where the war memorial stands and the wreaths are laid.

Hornchurch

The parade starts at 10.45am from Appleton Way, and marches along Hornchurch High Street to St Andrew’s Church, where a short outdoor service and wreath laying takes place.

Upminster

The parade begins from 10.30am at St Mary’s Lane.

Rainham

The parade starts from 10.30am at Rainham war memorial, Upminster Road South.

Elm Park

The service starts outside the Royal British Legion on Maylands Avenue at 10.45am, for the two-minute silence at 11am.

Harold Wood

A service takes place from 10.45am at the Memorial Hall.

Harold Hill

A service takes place from 10.40am at the war memorial.

What has not been published for 2026

Three things are worth waiting for rather than assuming:

  • Road closures. The council’s 2025 statement listed no closures, and none has been published for 2026. The Romford parade runs from South Street to Main Road on a Sunday morning, so short rolling closures are usual even when they are not advertised in advance.   • Confirmation that each parade is going ahead. The 2025 events were supported by a sponsor, Elm Site Services, which the council thanked by name. Sponsorship is now doing a lot of work across Havering’s civic calendar, so treat the list as the expected pattern rather than a guarantee.
  • Service times inside the churches. The council publishes step-off and silence times, not the full order of service. For that, contact the individual church or Royal British Legion branch.

Parking on the day

Sunday is the easy day for parking in this borough. Havering’s council car parks are free on Sundays, which covers every one of these events. If you are heading to the Romford parade, arrive before 10.15am. The Liberty’s own car parks fill on a Sunday morning and the parade route crosses the main pedestrian approach from South Street.
