Robin Hood runs at the Queen's Theatre Hornchurch from 18 November to 2 January. Every performance time, the £14.70 to £36.70 prices and the five access dates.

Havering’s pantomime this year is Robin Hood, at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, running from Wednesday 18 November 2026 to Saturday 2 January 2027. It is a new script written for the theatre and set, as the theatre puts it, in the Forest of Havering. Tickets are already on sale and the full performance calendar is published, which makes it the one December fixture in the borough you can actually book today.

The essentials

  • Box office: 01708 443333, open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays with no evening show. Sundays it opens an hour before the show.

Two named cast members are published so far: Folarin Akinmade as Robin Hood and Lauren Chinery as Cyril the Squirrel. The theatre casts actor-musicians in every role, so the band is the cast.

Every performance

Evening shows are at 6.30pm. Saturday matinees are at 2pm, Sunday shows at 12.30pm and 5pm. The Christmas week pattern changes, so read that block carefully.

January. Nothing on New Year’s Day. The run ends with Sat 2 January at 2pm and 6.30pm.

There is no performance on Sunday 22 November, and the theatre is dark on most Mondays and Tuesdays through the run. The last week of November and the first week of December are given over largely to schools performances, which is why the public dates thin out there.

Prices, and the ones worth knowing

Public tickets run £14.70 to £36.70, inclusive of a 70p QNext fee on every ticket. The theatre bands its performances by colour, and group rates differ between them:

  • Schools: £12, rising to £14 after September.
  • Young persons groups: £14, rising to full price after September.
  • Mixed groups of 50 or more, registered organisations only, valid on Blue and Green performances: £15.70 Blue, £17.70 Green.

If you are booking for a school or a youth group, the September deadline is the one date on this page that has already nearly passed.

The theatre also runs a “Share the Magic of Panto” scheme at the basket stage, where you can add a ticket, a pair, a family ticket or a part contribution for a child supported by local charities including Home-Start and Imago Young Carers Services.

Access performances

Five dates are signed, described, captioned or adapted:

  • BSL interpreted: Saturday 28 November 6.30pm, Wednesday 9 December 6.30pm, Monday 28 December 2pm.
  • Live audio described: Saturday 28 November 2pm, with a touch tour at 12.30pm.
  • Captioned: Tuesday 15 December 6.30pm.
  • Dementia friendly: Thursday 17 December 1pm.
  • Relaxed, SEN friendly: Thursday 17 December 5.30pm.

A limited number of Essential Companion tickets are available for patrons aged 14 and over who need assistance with disability-related access needs. Free pre-show touch tours are bookable separately.

Age and children

Children aged 36 months and under do not need a ticket and may sit on an adult’s lap. Every child under 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult aged 18 or over at all performances. The theatre publishes no upper or lower age guidance beyond that, and the 140-minute running time includes an interval.

Getting there from Romford

The theatre is a genuinely easy trip from Romford and it is one of the few venues in the borough that publishes its parking situation in full.

By car, the closest council car park is Billet Lane, which is card only, with RingGo code 41302 and an admin fee. If you need to pay cash you have to do it at a PayPoint shop, the nearest being Hornchurch Convenience Store on North Street, quoting the location reference. Fentiman Way has 133 spaces and 9 disabled bays, Appleton Way has 48 spaces and 2 disabled bays. Tariffs apply 24 hours a day including bank holidays, with a 12-hour maximum stay.

Two paid-parking traps the theatre flags itself. Sainsbury’s next door gives two hours free, camera enforced from 7am to 6pm, with a £100 charge beyond it. Lidl gives 90 minutes free, camera enforced 24 hours, with a £90 charge. For a 140-minute show plus interval, neither covers an evening performance. Free on-street parking is available on Keswick Avenue, opposite Sainsbury’s, and Westland Avenue, opposite Iceland.

There are three Blue Badge spaces at the front of the building and a ramp from street level to the foyer, box office and auditorium. Blue Badge holders park free and without a time limit on-street in Havering, but you may still have to pay in council car parks, so check the sign on arrival. By public transport, Hornchurch station on the District line is a 15-minute walk. Romford station is about 18 minutes away by bus or car. The 165, 256 and 370 stop outside the stage door in North Street; the 193, 248, 252 and 372 stop near Sainsbury’s.

One thing to ignore on the theatre’s own page. Its visitor information still warns that the Gallows Corner flyover replacement is “expected to cause disruptions until October 2026”. The water company handed the site back to Transport for London on 31 August 2026. The junction’s status changes often, so check our Romford roadworks and travel page for what is actually shut this week rather than relying on that note.
