Romford fireworks 2026: two dates set, no tickets yet

Bonfire night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November. A midweek fifth pushes the organised displays onto the weekend either side, which in Havering means Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November.

As of 5 September 2026, two displays in the borough have a 2026 date on the organiser’s own published material. Neither has tickets on sale yet. Everything else that ran in 2025 has published nothing at all for this year, and Havering Council does not run a display of its own.

Here is what we could verify this week, and where the gaps are.

Marshalls Park Academy, Romford: Friday 6 November

The closest confirmed display to Romford town centre is at Marshalls Park Academy, Pettits Lane, Romford RM1 4EH. The school’s own online diary carries an entry reading “Firework Event on 6th Nov 26 18:00”, timed 18:00 to 21:00. (Marshalls Park Academy calendar)

That is the whole of what the school has published. There is no price, no gates time, no ticket link and no mention of the display on the school’s news page.

For scale, the 2025 event ran on Friday 7 November, gates at 6pm and the display at 7.30pm, at £7 for adults and £5 for children, sold through Eventbrite by the Friends of Marshalls Park. It sold out before the night. (Romford Recorder, 2025 round-up) If the same pattern holds, tickets will appear in October and will not last. Treat the 2025 prices as a guide, not this year’s.

Coopers’ Coborn, Upminster: Saturday 7 November

The borough’s biggest school display has a full 2026 listing, and it is the only one in Havering with prices attached. The Coopers’ Company and Coborn School, St Mary’s Lane, Upminster RM14 3HS, Saturday 7 November, 17:00 to 20:30, doors at 5pm. (Havering Council events listing)

The published prices are:

• Advance, from the school shop: adults £8, children £6, family of two adults and two children £24.
• On the night: adults £9, children over the age of three £7, under-threes free.

The listing describes an indoor craft fayre, a licensed bar, a barbecue with meat and vegetarian options, refreshment stands, glow sticks and live music, with free on-site parking and indoor toilets. The contact number given is 01708 255474.

One caveat, and it matters if you were about to buy. The listing sends you to the school’s ParentPay shop for advance tickets. We opened that shop on 5 September: it returns “No products exist for this category!”, so the 2026 fireworks ticket was not yet on sale. (Coopers’ Coborn school shop) In 2025 the equivalent display ran on Saturday 8 November with gates at 5pm and the display at 6.30pm, at the same £8, £6 and £24, so the pricing looks to have been carried across unchanged.

Everything else that ran last year, and has said nothing this year

Havering had at least eleven displays in 2025, almost all run by school PTAs, scout groups or a church. We checked each organiser’s own website, calendar or box office this week. None of the following has published a 2026 date:

• Harold Wood Primary PTA, Recreation Avenue, Harold Wood. Ran Friday 7 November 2025, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, £7 adults and £5 children, and sold out. Its PTA ticket site sits behind a challenge page we could not read, so treat this one as unknown rather than cancelled.
• Suttons Primary, Hornchurch. Ran Friday 7 November 2025, gates 5.30pm, display 6.45pm, sold out.
• Harrow Lodge Primary, Hornchurch. Ran Monday 3 November 2025, gates 6pm, fireworks 7pm.
• Upminster Infant and Junior School. Ran Saturday 8 November 2025, gates 4.30pm, display 6.30pm.
• Drapers Maylands, Harold Hill. Ran Friday 7 November 2025, gates 5.30pm, tickets through the school.
• 1st Upminster Scouts. Ran Friday 7 November 2025.
• 3rd Havering Scouts, Collier Row. Ran Saturday 1 November 2025, gates 6.15pm, display 7.30pm.
• St Mary’s, Hornchurch, its musical fireworks extravaganza. Ran Tuesday 4 November 2025, doors 5.30pm, display 6.45pm.
• Romford and Gidea Park Rugby Club. Its Eventbrite organiser page lists no events at all, upcoming or on sale.
• Romford House Care Home, Harold Hill. Ran a free family display on Wednesday 5 November 2025, 6pm to 8pm.

School PTA displays in this borough typically go on sale in the first half of October. Several sold out in 2025, so the useful move is to check the individual school’s site or PTA social media from the start of October rather than waiting for a listings page to catch up.

Two traps in the search results

There is no council display, and no free display at Harrow Lodge Park. Havering Council organises no fireworks of its own, and its 2025 press coverage named none. Listings sites still carry a “Havering Free Fireworks, Harrow Lodge Park, Hornchurch RM11 1JU” entry with the time marked “TBC”. The event behind that entry ran on Saturday 11 November 2023 and the listing itself is marked as finished. (Raring2go listing) Do not plan an evening around it.

A page headed “Romford Fireworks Displays 2026” is not the same as a 2026 date. The ukfireworksdisplays.co.uk Romford page carries that 2026 heading, but its entries have no dates at all and one of them is a 2018 event with a dead ticket link. (ukfireworksdisplays.co.uk) The two dates at the top of this page are the only ones we could trace back to the organiser.

Getting there and parking

Coopers’ Coborn is the only one of the two confirmed displays that publishes parking arrangements, and it offers free on-site parking on St Mary’s Lane. Upminster station is about a 20-minute walk.

Marshalls Park Academy sits on Pettits Lane, a residential street between Romford town centre and Gidea Park, with no visitor car park published. Gidea Park station is the nearest rail stop. Both nights fall while roadworks are still moving around the borough. Check our Romford roadworks and travel page before you set off, particularly if your route uses Gallows Corner or the A12.

If you are setting off your own

Havering has a harder history with this than most boroughs, so the rules are worth stating plainly.

You can only buy fireworks from a registered seller for private use between 15 October and 10 November, and you cannot buy category 2 or 3 fireworks at all if you are under 18. You must not set off fireworks, sparklers included, in the street or any other public place. The nightly curfew is 11pm to 7am, with one exception: on bonfire night itself the cut-off moves to midnight. Selling or using fireworks illegally carries an unlimited fine and up to six months in prison, and an on-the-spot fine of £90. (GOV.UK, Fireworks: the law)

The reason that reads as more than boilerplate here: in October 2021 an 88-year-old woman, Josephine Smith, died of smoke inhalation after a firework was posted through the letterbox of her home in Queens Park Road, Harold Wood. Two teenagers were convicted of arson and manslaughter, and a shop worker separately admitted selling them the fireworks. Her family’s petition on firework sales gathered around 78,000 signatures and the case was later raised in Parliament. (Romford Recorder)

What we will update, and when

This page is checked again as each organiser publishes. The three things still missing:

• Marshalls Park Academy prices and ticket link, expected with the October on-sale.
• Coopers’ Coborn advance tickets, which will appear in the school’s ParentPay shop.
• Any of the nine 2025 displays returning, most likely announced through October.
